The Richard Jefferson Gymnasium features two competition sized basketball courts, five reduced basketball “sport” courts, and seven volleyball courts. The facility is depressed one story into the ground to accommodate the high ceiling required by volleyball practice, without overpowering the nearby residences in Sam Hughes neighborhood.
This project recently won a 2009 Arizona Masonry Guild Citation Award. The facility was designed by TMP/Breckenridge, Joint Venture, with Klindt Breckenridge, Architect of Record.
